Responsibilities:
Akamai is looking for a Benefits Manager to join our team. As our Benefits Manager you will:

* Design, develop and recommend global employee benefit programs and policies.
* Research competitive practices in employee benefits and Human Resources policy to support the company’s goals of ensuring market competitiveness and legal
* Gather and analyze data to support your recommendations.
* Play a key role in creating our global benefit policies and procedures.

Your primary activities will include the following:

* Perform annual review of programs for competitiveness, cost-effectiveness and compliance and prepare recommendations of proposed changes or new benefit program implementation
* Provide cost/benefit analysis for current or potential benefits plans
* Negotiate coverage, services and costs with carriers and brokers
* Develop programs designed to keep employees informed about company benefit plans and any proposed changes.
* Ensure programs are current with regard to trends, practices and costs
* Manage relationships with external administrators & vendors
* Represent company at external benefit organizations and events
* Train HR partners on benefit programs
* Manage 401(k) administrative activities and supports annual compliance reporting
* Manage annual open enrollment process including benefits fair
* Support corporate wellness initiatives

Travel is occasionally required for employee communication events.

Qualifications:
* Prior experience should include a Bachelors degree plus 3 or more years of benefits experience with at least two years in benefit or financial analysis
* Solid understanding of benefit-related programs including group insurance, retirement benefits, ERISA, FMLA, and HR policies; knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding benefits
* Well developed written and oral communication skills clear project management skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
* Knowledge of Oracle HR a plus
* International experience a distinct advantage
